Statement of Process

My project was pretty hard than I actually thought. My genres were glossary, game, letter, poem, journal entries, advertisement, character profile, cartoon, and descriptive paragraph. I left out one because I thought I had 10. (*sorry*) I chose this genres because I thought these were suitable and easy for my topic. In the beginning, I chose one invention such as the cotton gin but Ms. Sackstein said that it would not be a project just based on one thing. So instead in the jackdaws I found one that had different types of inventions.
The glossary was simple to do and I had no hard time. I needed to find words that were mostly used (in my topic) and write the meaning. Some words were harder that I thought and I didnt know the meaning such as agriculture, and mass produce. I used words that were used mostly in industrial revolution. First I wrote all the words and surprisingly I found words that were new to me. It was really fun learning new words.
The game was also easy because it was mainly about the whole project and some knowledge that they already knew. I didn't think that the game was a game but mostly a questionaire. I had a fun time making up a "game." I didn't think about doing scrambled words because I would've gotten confused with mixed up words. Silly me!!
The letter was fun to do because I wrote about hardship a man is facing while his children are working hard and hard so they can earn a lot of money. I wrote it to Samuel Slater about the working hours and how much the children earn. I first wanted to do about Eli Whitney but then Ms. G told my that my project can be based on different inventions instead of one idea.
The poem was hard for me to write. I had no idea what it should be about. So I wrote about Robbert Goddard's invention of his rockets. I then, wrote about the rockets launching in the air.
I chose the journal entries because I wanted the readers to know about Henry Ford's famous invention.... the car. I was excited to write the entries so I started with Mr. Ford dreaming to invent something HUGE and GREAT, that people will start buying. He was mostly into machinery.
The advertisement was easy and I thought that I had done this post the best. At first I didnt know what to write about, so I asked Ms.G. She told me that I could write about Eli Whitney's invention, the cotton gin. So I took that idea and made the advertisement about how great the cotton gin is and how it works. I had a hard time but then when Ms.G helped me, I finally knew what to do.
The character profile was fun to do and easy too. I chose the person Eli Whitney because he was mostly known for his invention and how it brought back slavery in the plantation.
The whole project was sort of hard because of what topics I should use and how it will be used. I enjoyed the project and will be looking forward to another blog project. :]
